Creating leave for an employee

If your role allows it, you can submit a leave request on behalf of an employee. Open Leave Management → All Leave Requests and click Add Request at the top right.

  1. Leave Management — Open the Leave Management group in the menu.

  2. All Leave Requests — Then choose All Leave Requests.

  3. Add Request — Click Add Request at the top right.

  4. Employee — Pick the employee the leave is for.

  5. Leave Type — Pick the leave type.

  6. From Date — Start date of the leave.

  7. To Date — End date. The working days are calculated automatically.

  8. Half Day Leave — Turn on for a half day, then choose First Half or Second Half.

  9. Reason — Required. Why the leave is needed.

  10. Supporting Document — (Optional) PDF / JPG / PNG.

  11. Travelling Abroad — (Optional) Turn on and enter the location if the employee is travelling abroad.

  12. Emergency Contact — (Optional) Name of someone to reach during the leave.

  13. Create Leave Request — Save — the request appears in the leave list under the employee’s name.

Steps

  1. Open Leave Management → All Leave Requests and click Add Request.
  2. Pick the Employee.
  3. Pick the Leave Type.
  4. Set the From Date and To Date. The screen shows the calculated number of working days (weekends and holidays excluded) once both dates are set.
  5. If it's a half day, turn on Half Day Leave and choose First Half or Second Half.
  6. Enter a Reason — this is required.
  7. Optionally attach a Supporting Document (PDF, JPG, or PNG).
  8. If the employee will be travelling abroad, turn on Travelling Abroad and enter the location.
  9. Optionally fill in Emergency Contact and Emergency Phone.
  10. Click Create Leave Request.

Tips

  • The Add Request button only appears if your role can create leave for other people.
  • After it's created, the request shows up in the All Leave Requests list and follows the normal approval flow — see Reviewing a leave request.
