Leave types

Leave types are the categories employees pick when they apply for leave — for example casual leave, sick leave, or earned leave. Open Leave Management → Leave Types from the left menu.

  1. Leave Management — Open the Leave Management group in the menu.
  2. Leave Types — Then choose Leave Types.

Steps

  1. Open Leave Management → Leave Types.
  2. Use the Search leave types... box to find a type by ID, name, code, or notes.
  3. Click the eye icon on a row to view that type's full settings in a pop-up.
  4. Click the pencil icon to edit a type, or the trash icon to delete it (both appear only if your role allows it).
  5. Click Add New at the top right to create a new type — see Creating or editing a leave type.

What you'll see

The table has these columns:

  • ID — the leave type number.
  • Name — the leave type's name.
  • Code — its short code (for example "CL", "SL", "EL").
  • Notes — any notes saved on it, or "-" if none.
  • Proof Required — Required or Not Required, showing whether a supporting document is needed when this type is used.
  • Status — Active or Inactive. Only active types are offered when applying for leave.
  • Actions — view, edit, and delete buttons (see the Steps above).

Tips

  • A leave type that's already used by existing leave requests can't be deleted — make it Inactive instead.
