Designation levels
Designation levels are grading bands — for example "Junior", "Senior", or "Manager" — used to rank designations and to set default travel allowances. Expense policies can target a level instead of a single designation. Open the screen from the left menu under Settings → Master Data → Designation Levels.
- Master Data — Open the Master Data group in the menu.
- Designation Levels — Then choose Designation Levels.
What you'll see
The page note reads "Manage designation levels and their travel policies." The list shows these columns:
- Name
- Code
- Display Name
- Priority — lower numbers rank higher in the hierarchy
- Status — Active or Inactive
- Actions — view, edit, and delete
Clicking the view (eye) icon opens a View Designation Level dialog showing the name, code, display name, priority, description, the default Mileage Rate, Food Allowance, Boarding Limit, Train Class, and AC Tier, the Designations Count (how many designations use this level), and the status.
Adding a designation level
- Click Add New.
- In the Add Designation Level panel, enter a Name, a Code (unique), and a Display Name.
- Set a Priority (a whole number, 1 or higher).
- Optionally add a Description.
- Optionally fill in the default travel values: Mileage Rate, Food Allowance, Boarding Limit, Train Class (for example "2S" or "SL"), and AC Tier (1, 2, or 3).
- Use the Active switch to set whether the level is active.
- Click Create.
Editing or removing a designation level
- Click the pencil icon (or Edit inside the view dialog) to open the Edit Designation Level panel, make your changes, and click Update.
- Click the delete icon and confirm in the Delete Designation Level dialog to remove it.
Tips
- The default travel values here act as a baseline for that level; more specific limits are set in Expense policies.
- Use the search box above the list to find a level by name or code.
