Document types

Document types are the kinds of documents employees are expected to provide — ID proof, certificates, contracts, and similar. They're used in employee records and during onboarding. Open the screen from the left menu under Settings → Master Data → Document Types.

  1. Master Data — Open the Master Data group in the menu.
  2. Document Types — Then choose Document Types.

What you'll see

The page note reads "Manage document types for employee records." The list shows these columns:

  • ID
  • Name
  • Code
  • Notes
  • Status — Active or Inactive
  • Actions — edit and delete

Adding a document type

  1. Click Add New.
  2. In the Add Document Type panel, enter a Name. The Code is generated for you automatically (you can change it if you need to).
  3. Optionally add Notes.
  4. Turn on Mark as critical if this document should be flagged for HR follow-up reports. Note that candidates are expected to upload every active document type regardless of this setting.
  5. Use the Active switch to set whether the type is in use. Inactive document types are hidden from new onboarding submissions.
  6. Click Create.

Editing or removing a document type

  • Click the pencil icon on a row to open the Edit Document Type panel, make your changes, and click Update.
  • Click the delete icon and confirm in the Delete Document Type dialog to remove it. This cannot be undone.

Tips

  • Turning a type off (Active switch) keeps it on existing records but stops it appearing in new onboarding — useful for retiring a document you no longer collect.
  • Use the search box above the list to find a document type by name or code.

Note

Document types carry no expiry date. The form holds Name, Code, Notes, Mark as critical and Active only.
