Creating a warning letter

Issue a performance warning letter to an employee.

  1. Employee Lifecycle — Open the Employee Lifecycle group in the menu.

  2. Warning Letters — Then choose Warning Letters.

  3. Issue Warning — Click Issue Warning at the top right of the list.

  4. Employee — Pick the employee receiving the warning.

  5. Warning Date — The date of the warning.

  6. Reason — Why the warning is being issued.

  7. Target Amount — (Optional) A target figure tied to this warning.

  8. Grace Period End — (Optional) Date by which the employee is expected to improve.

  9. Consequences — (Optional) What happens if there is no improvement.

  10. Issue Warning — Save the warning — it appears in the list and the employee is notified.

Availability

The Employee Lifecycle area may not be turned on for your company yet. If you don't see it in your menu, it isn't enabled — check with your HR or IT team.

Steps

  1. In the left menu, open Employee Lifecycle and choose Warning Letters.
  2. Click Issue Warning. A panel slides in from the right.
  3. Fill in:
    • Employee — pick the employee.
    • Warning Date — the date of the warning.
    • Reason — why the warning is being issued.
    • Target Amount — optional target figure tied to the warning.
    • Grace Period End — optional date by which the employee is expected to improve.
    • Consequences — optional, what happens if there's no improvement.
    • Notes — optional additional notes.
  4. Click Issue Warning.

The warning letter appears in the list. The employee can view and acknowledge it; the Acknowledged column shows whether they have.

Note

The warning letter list has no "submit for approval" button, though the underlying approval workflow exists.
