Organization hierarchy

The Organization Hierarchy screen gives you a read-only picture of how your organization is structured — reporting lines, departments, and designation levels. Open it from the left menu under Settings → Organization Hierarchy. It pulls everything from your employee records, departments, and designation levels, so there's nothing to edit here directly.

  1. Organization Hierarchy — Open Organization Hierarchy from the menu.

What you'll see

Below the page title there's a short summary line showing the total number of Employees, Departments, and Designation Levels, and a search box that matches by name, code, designation, or department. Below that are four tabs:

  • Org Chart — a bird's-eye view of the reporting structure as connected cards. Each card shows the person's avatar, name, designation, and department, with a small badge for how many direct reports they have. Use the zoom controls (top right of the chart) to zoom in or out, fit the chart to the view, or reset to 100%.
  • Reporting Tree — an expandable, indented list of who reports to whom. Click the arrows to expand or collapse a branch. People who don't have anyone reporting to them are grouped at the bottom under Individual Contributors.
  • By Department — employees grouped by department, with sub-departments nested under their parent. The person set as Department Head is highlighted at the top of each department.
  • By Designation Level — employees grouped by their designation level.

Steps

  1. Open Organization Hierarchy under Settings.
  2. Pick the tab that matches what you want to see — the chart, the reporting tree, or a grouping by department or level.
  3. Type a name, code, designation, or department in the search box to highlight matching people and trim the view to just them and their reporting line.
  4. Click any person's name to open their employee profile.

Tips

  • If the chart looks empty or incomplete, check that employees have a reporting to manager, a department, and a designation level set on their records — that's what builds this view.
  • The search affects the Reporting Tree, By Department, and By Designation Level tabs.
