v1.0.0 · Release preparation Requires Task module

Adding a task update

While a task is in progress you can post updates — a written comment, a file, or both. Updates appear in the task's activity timeline so everyone involved can follow progress.

  1. Tasks — Open Tasks from the menu.

  2. View Details — On My Tasks, click the eye icon next to a task that is In Progress.

  3. Add Update — Scroll to the Add Update section inside the Task Details panel.

  4. Comment — Type your update in the box.

  5. Attach — And/or choose a file to attach.

  6. Send — Click Send — your update is added to the Activity Timeline.

Steps

  1. Open Tasks from the Self-Service menu and go to the My Tasks tab.
  2. Click the eye icon next to a task that is In Progress to open the Task Details panel.
  3. Scroll to the Add Update section.
  4. Type your comment in the box, and/or choose a file to attach.
  5. Click Send.

What you'll see

A confirmation appears and your update is added to the Activity Timeline in the same panel, showing the text, any attached file, your name, and the time.

Tips

  • You need to enter a message, attach a file, or both — an empty update can't be sent.
  • For required documents on tasks that need an attachment before completion, use the Upload Required Document section instead — see Working a task.
