Availability

The Employee Lifecycle area may not be turned on for your company yet. If you don't see it in your menu, it isn't enabled — check with your HR or IT team.

Steps

  1. In the left menu, open Employee Lifecycle and choose Promotions.
  2. Click Create Promotion. A panel slides in from the right.
  3. Fill in:
    • Employee — pick the employee. Their current salary and designation are shown for reference once selected.
    • Effective Date — when the promotion should take effect.
    • Promotion Type — Salary Increment, Designation Change or Both.
    • New Designation — shown when the type is Designation Change or Both. Required in that case.
    • New Salary — shown when the type is Salary Increment or Both. Required in that case. The increment percentage is calculated and shown as you type.
    • Reason — optional reason for the promotion.
  4. Click Create. The promotion is saved as a Draft.

Submitting for approval

  1. Back on the Promotions list, find the draft promotion.
  2. Click the send button in the Actions column.

The promotion moves to Pending Approval and goes through your company's promotion approval workflow. You can follow its progress in the Promotion Details panel (the eye button), which shows each approval step, the approver, when they acted, and any notes.
