Disabled accounts

The Disabled tab on the Microsoft 365 screen lists Microsoft 365 accounts that have been disabled — usually because the employee is suspended, has left, or has been deactivated.

  1. Microsoft 365 — Open Microsoft 365 from the menu.

Your account needs administrator access to open this screen.

Steps

  1. Open Microsoft 365 from the menu.
  2. Select the Disabled tab. The heading shows how many appear.
  3. The table — Disabled Accounts, "Microsoft 365 accounts that have been disabled" — lists each one with their Employee, M365 UPN, Status (the employee's current status), and Disabled At (when the account was disabled). If there are none, you'll see "No disabled accounts".

Re-enabling an account

This screen shows the list only — there's no button here to re-enable an account. A disabled Microsoft 365 account is switched back on automatically when you move the employee back to Active (or Onboarding) on their profile. See Pausing and restoring an employee's access.

Note that an account left disabled past the grace period is permanently deleted — see When an employee leaves.
