Finding your way around Self-Service

Self-Service is your personal area in Open Core HR. It has a green menu running down the left side, a bar across the top, and the main content area in between.

  1. The menu — The green menu down the left lists everything you can do for yourself — leave, attendance, expenses, documents and more.
  2. The top bar — Search, the app switcher, the theme toggle, your notifications and your profile menu.

The left menu

  • The menu lists everything you can do for yourself — your dashboard, attendance, leave, expenses, announcements, tasks, holidays, documents, assets, loans, HR policies, warnings and appeals.
  • Items with a small arrow next to them (like Leave or Expenses) expand to show more options when you select them.
  • The menu is the same on every screen — you don't lose it as you move between pages.

The top bar

  • Search — jump quickly to a page or look something up.
  • App switcher (grid icon) — open other Open Core HR apps your company uses. If you only have access to Self-Service, you'll only see Self-Service here.
  • Theme (sun/moon icon) — switch between Light, Dark, and System appearance.
  • Notifications (bell icon) — recent alerts, approvals on your requests, announcements aimed at you.
  • Your profile menu — your name and photo at the far right. It has My Profile, Change Password, and Logout.

The Help & Documentation entry opens the public manual. It describes features for different roles and optional modules; your company configuration determines which screens are available to you.
