Employee lifecycle
The Employee Lifecycle area is where HR manages an employee's journey from the first offer to their final settlement on exit. It has its own group in the left menu.
Availability
The Employee Lifecycle area may not be turned on for your company yet. If you don't see it in your menu, it isn't enabled — check with your HR or IT team.
What's in this area
The Employee Lifecycle submenu has these screens:
- Offers — offer letters for candidates, plus reviewing each new joiner's onboarding submissions and completing onboarding.
- Appointments — appointment (confirmation-of-employment) letters issued to confirmed joiners.
- Probations — probation periods, with options to extend a probation or confirm an employee as permanent.
- Promotions — designation changes, salary increments, or both, routed through an approval workflow.
- Bonus Cycles — bonus processing cycles and the bonus entries generated for them.
- Warning Letters — performance warning letters (for target misses and similar), separate from disciplinary warnings.
- Separations — the exit process when an employee resigns or is relieved.
- NDC — no-dues clearances that each department signs off before an exit is finalised.
- Settlements — the full and final settlement amounts for separating employees.
Many of these steps also produce letters — offer letters, appointment letters, increment letters, warning letters, and relieving letters — which can be previewed and downloaded from the related screen.
How the pieces fit together
- HR creates an offer and sends it to a candidate.
- The candidate accepts and fills in their details and documents online; HR reviews each section and completes onboarding, which activates the employee account and issues the appointment letter.
- A probation review is created for the new joiner. When the probation ends, HR extends it or confirms the employee.
- Over time, HR records promotions and runs bonus cycles, and issues warning letters where needed.
- When an employee leaves, HR records a separation, departments complete the no-dues clearances, and HR prepares the final settlement and marks it paid.
The pages in this section walk through each of these steps.
